This project is funded by Epping Forest DC, Harlow DC, GreenArc, The Tree Council, The Guardian newspaper, Essex Biodiversity and The Local Heritage Initiative.
They love to climb on them, in them, under them and over them, they play hide and seek behind them. Later woods are places of adventure, a natural playground to explore the world, a playground and a place to learn about the world.
How many of us can remember a tree that we used to climb up as a child? Or, if we were lucky, we knew a special tree, perhaps a fruit tree, a blossom tree, or a tree with beautiful autumn colour?
One of the strongest motivations to protect and preserve trees is so that future generations may enjoy them as we did and our children and grandchildren do.

Competition entries closed in April 2006, but nominations will are still wanted for your favourite trees so continue to register your trees when ever you wish. although these will no longer be eligable for the competition they will still be published on this web site to ensure that it continues to grow and attract attention.
