Reason for nomination:

• A fine maiden oak standing within an ancient hedgerow.

Remarks & Tree condition:

• The Lambourne End Outdoor Centre stands on the edge of Hainualt Forest. Formerly a 54 acre farm known as "Youngs Farm" the field pattern appears to have changed little in centuries. To date over 20 veteran oak and ash trees have been recorded on the site. The centre has restricted access, but visits can be made by arranged with the centres reception. This tree is not a nomination, but has been recorded as part of the Epping Forest Veteran tree survey. (Photographed and recorded August 2005)
