Reason for nomination:

• This maiden oak stands in with 3 others in a line on former farmland to the south east of the village of Theydon Bois (between the M11 motorway and the London Underground tube line). It has considerable decay with fungal growth at the base possibly Ganoderma lucidum.

Remarks & Tree condition:

• Photographed and recorded 19.08.07 as part of the Epping Forest Veteran Tree Hunt. Open public access to the tree which stands on land owned by the Woodland Trust "Theydon Wood".
